1. Decide with your opponent how many cards to use for battle (minimum 5 per player). Both players should have the same number of cards. Players can pick their favorites or choose randomly. 

2. Each player shuffles their own battle deck, places it face down, then draws 5 cards from the top. 

3. Both players then choose a card from their hand and, at the same time, play it face up. The duel is on! 

4. Compare the power of each player's Digimon Attack. Your attack is determined by the Battle Type of the opponent. The player with the most powerful attack wins the duel. 

5. The number of points awarded to the winner of the duel is determined by the Digimon Level of the defeated card. For instance, if you beat an Ultimate, you are awarded the points listed next to "U" in the chart at the bottom of your card. 

6. Put aside the cards from the last duel and draw 1 card from the top of your deck to restore your hand to 5 cards. 

7. Repeat steps 3-5 and continue dueling until one player wins 1000 points, or until the cards run out. Winner is the first to score 1000, or the one with the highest score when the cards run out.
